Thank you, Winter

Despite the up and down temperatures that brought t-shirt and flip-flops weather one day and frosts that killed the magnolia blossoms the next , I think spring is finally here to stay. Swallows are tending a nest in the high corner of a neighbor’s porch, the grass is a solid shade of green, bees are out and about.

But as much as I love the warmer days with windows open, they come much sooner than they used to, and though the winter had its share of frigid cold days, snow, for the most part, was fleeting. That said, John and I managed to cross-country ski on the few inches that fell during the January storm, and for this I thank you, Winter.
